Solution

There are several potential reasons you may notice reduced suction, and most can be resolved with a few quick checks.

Start by looking at the dust container. If it’s full, empty it. This is also a good time to clean or replace the filter or nose cone if they’re dirty. If either piece is missing, it will need to be replaced for the vacuum to work properly. You can clean these parts outdoors or wash them—just be sure they’re completely dry before reinstalling. Replacement filters are available online at Electrolux.com or through our customer service team.

Reduced suction can also be caused by blockages in the air channel, cyclone, or floor nozzle. Remove the dust container to inspect and clear the air channel and air inlet. For the floor nozzle, remove it to check for any debris in the nozzle or wrapped around the brush roll. Refer to your Use & Care manual for instructions on cleaning the brush roll.
It may also help to confirm you’re using the right nozzle for your flooring. Use the bristle nozzle or fluffy nozzle on hard floors, and the bristle nozzle on carpet.
